Morning Update – Oct. 9
Meg slept a little better last night but woke up at 3 and slept a little off and on after that. Not great but way better than the previous night.
For dinner last night she did a fruit tray. She didn’t eat a huge amount but she enjoyed it. For breakfast we picked up Chick-fil-A. I ate with Megan and Susan ate with Tony. She had a chicken breakfast bowl and fruit cup on the side. The fruit was better than the chicken bowl but she ate maybe a little more than last night. She is enjoying her tea from there the most.
The doctors struggled today to come up with the best news. A while back they had this problem because things weren’t good and it was hard to find anything good at all. Today they had trouble picking from all the good.
She is peeing well but more importantly the quality is improving. Some of her blood markers went down without dialysis. She is still retaining too much fluid but her kidneys are starting to take over. I’m convinced she is making them work out of spite because she really hates dialysis.
She is improving a lot with movement, control, and dexterity. She can push the call button with just a little help and if she didn’t have her one arm in a sling she may be able to get it all the time.
She is also more consistent with the bedpan, which will be really good for healing some sores on her rear.
She is eating at least some and she got to go outside yesterday and they are going to try and get her outside again today.
Just so much good they literally were struggling to name the best.
The biggest problem is rehab. She is basically ready to move to rehab now and honestly the sooner that can start the better for her. The problem is the facility in DC has her 5th on the waiting list and the one in Norfolk can take her now. We really don’t want to do the one in Norfolk because it’s hard enough being here and Norfolk is just too far from our other kids and the church.
Prayer needs:
- keeping up the amazing progress
- getting into a closer rehab
Feeling like first world problems again, so happy but still looking to be closer to home.
Talitha cumi princess. Keep it going!
