Another Morning Update – Oct. 11

I jumped the gun with my first morning update. The kidney doctor, nephrologist, came in a few minutes ago.

Megan’s kidneys have performed much better than expected. Her blood work from this morning came back cleaner than it was after dialysis on Saturday.

The doctor said with 90% certainty that she is done with dialysis.

She needs to make sure to drink extra water. They had her on 1.5L max the past few days but she output over 2L, so they want her on 2L min and will monitor and possibly increase.

Apparently when the kidneys start performing they go into overdrive for a few days so they need to make sure she has enough fluid to keep up.

Hesitate to post this because in 5 minutes they’ll come in and say she is getting her trach out or moving rooms or some other good news.
