Evening Update – Oct. 28

Megan is doing better today than yesterday. Still a bit upset stomach but she has eaten better today than yesterday.

Just got off the phone with rehab. She is likely to be admitted a week from this coming Monday.

The facility sounds great and they have a lot to offer her. I felt the case worker there was much more enthusiastic than the one in DC. We talked about different programs that will be available to Meg and some treatments she will be starting with. Her day will be very full, but it also sounds like a lot of fun too. Plus maybe an opportunity to make some new friends.

Megan is super social, so that will be very good for her.

Sadly it isn’t starting soon enough. It would be great if she was starting Monday, not a week later. Meg is so beyond ready to get out of here.

After the first few days we’ll get together and plan more what going home looks like. Set a goal for getting there and talk about some changes we may need to make at home.

The case worker said some kids surprise them and get done sooner and some take longer. I feel like they will be very surprised. Megan has already shocked everyone with how well she has gotten and how quickly too.

I told her if Meg isn’t out by Christmas, I’m busting her out and taking her home.

But I really think she will be discharged before then.
