Afternoon Update – Nov. 2

Weeks ago Meg had a pressure sore on her heel. It’s been healing well, but after she slept with her knee up night before last it was hurting her all day. Before bed last night she wanted her sock off because it was irritating her.

When I pulled it off, the dead skin was stuck to it and peeled off. 

Over all it was gross looking, but dried up nicely and most of what was there was sensitive, pink, and new skin. There was a small section that was raw and red. I think that section was what really hurt.

I think it will heal up nicely now that the crusty dead skin is gone though.

Overall things continue to go well. Meg did OT already today but we were up in the chair and done with breakfast when they came in so they rolled right into getting her read. Again they helped her change her clothes, wash her, and change her bedding. Again I was out of the room for most of it. At the end we talked about playing the clarinet tomorrow to see if they can help her with position and posture.

We are still waiting for a bed in rehab. If all goes well this will be a week from today at the latest.

Prayer Needs:

• pain (getting better but not done)
• her leg needs to heal completely
• foot pain/healing
