Morning Update – Nov. 3
Meg continues to improve every day. I think the drain in her leg may be coming out today or tomorrow. That leaves just one accessory, the g-tube. That has to stay till the 15th, so it will be coming out at rehab if all goes well.
This morning OT got here earlier than usual, just after Meg said she needed to use the restroom. Conveniently, they wanted to help her try transferring to the toilet, so we got her into the wheelchair and they helped her transfer to the toilet, then back to the chair. Once she was in the chair she was able to wheel to the sink to wash her hands.
She also got her last echo before rehab … hopefully. Then PT came by while she was getting the echo so they left and should be back later. Hopefully not too late because she just finished breakfast and should have good energy to work for PT now.
Some of the bad bruises from the ECMO are fading quickly. The burns on her chest are also healing well and the trach wound has completely closed.
