Afternoon Update – Nov. 6

Meg seems to be in less pain today than yesterday. Her toes are less tight. Still somewhat curled but less so and less painful to straighten.

We are rubbing on lotion and gently stretching several times a day. That seems to be helping.

Her heel looks about the same. We are letting it air out some right now and that seems to be helping. It was more raw looking earlier but now looks red and sore but not raw and angry.

All the things are moving forward for transfer to rehab Tuesday. Unless something happens it looks like that is going through. During rounds today that was mostly what we talked about. There are only two things left to do on this end for discharge, and the Covid test and getting all her imaging onto a disk.

Megan is resting right now. We did some standing and sitting in a chair this morning but she was worn out and ready to rest.

Also wanted to note that her bruising from the ECMO is fading quickly now. It was very large and lasted a long time, but standing seems to be the ticket to making it get better.

Prayer needs:

  • foot
  • stomach (still some gut issues from antibiotics)
  • general recovery

Talitha cumi. We are packing up and ready to go.
