Afternoon Update – Nov. 17

Yesterday was better than Sunday, but Meg was still not at 100% though her migraine was much improved. She took a few naps and fell asleep while I was reading by 9:20. She didn’t want to wake up to go potty around 10 and I thought she might wake up in the night. She actually slept all night till I woke her up to start getting ready.

That kind of rest is very good for her.

Today we had the neuro-ophthalmologist appointment and it took all morning. Everything went well and they are mostly happy with her vision. There are some things they want to follow up on and recommend glasses but not right away. They say her vision will continue to improve for a year or so. Right now it’s getting better more quickly and glasses would have to be changed too often. They also want a follow up MRI that includes detailed imaging of her eyes and optic nerves. We can’t do that for a couple more months though.

Meg has has some stomach upset and general body ache, but is much better than even yesterday. For example, she got back to the room and someone from the rec room came to see if she wanted to come downstairs. I thought she might be done and need to rest but she went for it. She insisted that I help her stand for a few minutes so she could rest her rear. We’ll be looking into what we can do to improve her long term seat comfort when we get her own chair. Supposedly the cushion is really good, but more than an hour in it and she is getting uncomfortable. Standing for even a minute or two every hour helps a lot though.

Prayer needs:

  • continued recovery
  • stomach upset
