Morning Update – Nov. 29

In addition to the little tree we got a cute wreath for Megan’s door. Just a bit more Christmas even though we are heading out before Christmas.

Megan keeps getting stronger and last night we decided to see if she could transfer to bed from her wheelchair. She stood up without help, pivoted, and eased herself into bed. Then she pulled her leg up and adjusted her position in bed all by herself.

Later when she needed to go potty at 1am she was able to reverse that and got into the chair all by herself.

After she went potty and washed her hands she got back in bed by herself. She went to stand and lost momentum then started falling back into her seat so I reached to catch her.

She said, “Dad! If I fall back I fall back. I got this!”

Nervously I stepped back and let her and sure enough, she got this. This week she has to get labs, pick a wheelchair, and get ultrasound of her veins and kidneys. The wheelchair part is something she is looking forward to. The other two not so much.
