Morning Update – Dec. 3

Meg had a small slip a couple days ago when transferring to her wheelchair from the bed. It wasn’t super bad, but she collapsed into the chair and sat on the nub. It was very painful and since she has been experiencing some extra pain in her leg in a place that hasn’t really hurt previously.

Today she was doing PT and it was really hurting her, so she wasn’t able to do as much in PT as she would have normally.

In other news, we had a meeting with the Dr, social worker, and case manager planning for her to go home at the end of next week. We are still hopeful that Megan will recover quickly now that she is on antibiotics for the c.dif but until then we need to plan for her to be coming home because she isn’t really getting all the benefit of in patient rehab when she can’t access most of the facilities and it really isn’t good for her mental health.

Next week we’ll be working on practicing car transfers and doing other caregiver training so we can be more ready. We are also ordering some things that we will need at home.

If Meg gets better and can be off the in-room quarantine, then we are ahead of the game, but if we go home the end of next week we’ll have the things we need most in place.

Prayer Needs:

  • c.dif recovery/gut distress
  • pain in her leg
  • general recovery

Talitha cumi, making plans to get you home.
