Morning Update – Dec. 5

Meg had a follow up appointment with plastics today. This was the one that was originally last week but it was cancelled. Susan took Meg to the Ronald McDonald House last night so she didn’t have to fight rush hour traffic for the relatively early appointment time.

I joined via FaceTime and was able to ask the doctor questions. When I joined he recognized me but as we talked and he examined Megan’s wound he suddenly realized who she was.

Her recovery had been so remarkable he couldn’t place her and was just about bowled over when he realized.

Actions from this appointment are to check with her cardiologist to make sure a surgery with general anesthesia that is not fully necessary for survival but could help her heal more quickly and be more comfortable sooner would be safe. Assuming her heart is cleared then they want to schedule a surgery to further close this open wound. Otherwise we continue with dressing changes as we go.
