Afternoon Update – Jan. 14
Megan is enrolled in school again as of today.
We had the first planning meeting. Took forever, but the plan is looking good. I’ve said before that Megs main requirements for school are to graduate with her friends and be back in band in the fall.
I floated that Meg may best be able to do classes this semester virtually because of all of her appointments. The team agreed, so this semester Meg is virtual.
I also asked if she may be able to go into the school for some of the support services like OT and PT so that she can start getting use to that environment. We have to wait for some evaluations but they agreed that made a lot of sense.
In short it looks like my perfect, best case scenario for back to school could be a possibility.
When Meg saw her initial schedule she was sad because she thought it meant she wasn’t in gov school any longer. I explained that this is just what we need for now and we still have to talk to gov school but last we talked with them they wanted to work with us to make sure she can come back. That helped her.
While Meg is enrolled, it apparently takes time to get her into the system for virtual learning so she will not be starting till next week.
