Morning Update – Oct. 23

Meg had a really rough day yesterday. She was miserable. Stomach upset, diarrhea (sorry Meg), stiff, sore, and just feeling bad.

On the other hand, she is sitting up better and kept asking to cuddle. I sat beside her and she could sit up and lean over onto my shoulder while I held her. Soon she’ll be strong enough to hold on and I’ll pick her up and set her in my lap.

She also got in the wheelchair and rolled herself down the hall. So she is taking control of her own mobility already.

I saw a video of a young woman, maybe a bit older than Meg, and she was recording herself standing with a count down, 4 days before amputation, 3 days, 2 days, 1 day, the day of, and then a month later standing with a crutch on her 1 leg. I’m grateful Meg didn’t have to anticipate it. I feel that is worse. After her video there was a response from a man that was titled 25 years after amputation. His was also up to the hip like the young woman and Megan’s. He dropped the crutch and stood perfectly on 1 leg. Then the title changed to “it gets better” and I’m bawling.

Prayer needs:

  • stomach distress
  • comfort
  • peace
  • rest
  • healing
  • hope

Talitha cumi baby. It gets better.
