Morning Update – Nov. 20

Meg had a good day yesterday. She is recovering well from having the g-tube removed with no complaints of pain. She did all her therapy and had her spa day where they did her nails. Susan hung out with them for that and they had shakes. I also got a shake so that was nice 🙂

Meg got to do a movie night in the rec room with other teens last night and she really enjoys that.

This morning is a bit worse. Mom was here with her and she needed to go potty. When she sat down, she was just at the edge of the toilet. Meg wanted to stand and sit again, but the nurse wanted to try and scoot her back. At some point meg fell back and hit her head on the transfer bar behind her and then slid forward. The nurse caught her and eased her to the floor but Meg was upset and her head hurts.

I also suspect Megan is having a side effect from one or more of her meds. She is on several and pretty much every medicine ever lists the top side effect of diarrhea. Talked with the doctors and they agree, but because they all have this side effect it’s hard to know which one or which combination is the culprit.

Meg is a trooper though and is going through her therapies today. She wants to get out of here as quickly as possible. She is getting much stronger, able to bridge, roll, stand with minimal help, and do transfers with minimal help. In a week or three she won’t need help with most day to day things and will be in her final phase of this rehab.

Prayer needs:

  • Her head
  • Her stomach
  • Her heel/swelling in her foot
  • General recovery
