Morning Update – Dec. 2
They finally did a stool sample test on Megan to see why she is having so much trouble with her stomach/gut. They just told us it is c.diff. A couple folks in this group said something about that weeks ago and I asked the people at Inova about it and they shot it down. Didn’t even bother testing.
The problem is, this is triggering a change in her isolation protocol. I don’t know what that means yet. They haven’t heard from the infection disease doctor yet. Someone told Megan all her therapies would be done in her room and she is really upset.
I’m pretty upset at how they told her. I’m not sure who brought her up to her room, but that should have been handled differently.
Also, if they are putting her in lock down, then we’ll be checking her out and trying to figure out how to get her the help she needs from home. She has been brilliant. She is adapting and pushing, but the weight of all of this is just too much but she is carrying it.
She is doing well because she is able to talk with other people, get out of this room and see other things. Locking her in this room will defeat all of that.
What’s worse, she has had this the whole time. We’ve been asking for help with it the whole time. It’s just now been tested for and so the horse is already loose, why shut the gate now?
Long story short, we are waiting to hear what will happen but may end up home next week if they plan on locking her in this room.
If the protocol is only in isolation for a few days, then MAYBE we stick it out. I’ll ask Meg how she wants to go.
Prayer Needs:
- Isolation protocols that allow her to leave her room
- General Recovery
Talitha cumi, you may be coming home sooner than expected.
