GEEKS WITH HEART HELPING A BABY GEEK'S HEART
We created this fundraiser for Megan Croft, who suffered a catastrophic health event requiring ongoing hospitalization in early September 2021.
The demands of and frequent changes in her condition require the full attention of Meg’s parents, Nick and Susan. The Crofts also have three other school-aged children back at home to care for.
As the situation around Meg's health evolves, it is apparent that there will be significant financial impact on the Croft family for Meg's ongoing healthcare needs.
100% of the net donations (minus only the GoFundMe / payment processor costs) will be used for the Croft family.
Here are some of the ways that your monetary donations may be applied to help Megan and her family:
Medical Expenses
Deductibles and co-pays and things not covered by insurance, oh my.
Travel
Gas is one of the “hidden costs” of sudden catastrophic illness. It’s often a significant out-of-pocket expense.
Lodging
Meg’s parents are currently housed at Ronald McDonald House, which has a daily minimum suggested donation of $15.
Meals, Nick & Susan
The hospital is 1½ hours from their home, there are food allergies to account for, and they have a place to prepare meals where they’re staying. We’ll arrange for both grocery delivery to their temporary home base as necessary and meals/snacks on the fly while at the hospital.
Meals, Children
Sometimes the supporting adults (Nana and Papa, holla!) in the family’s life gotta Adult. When they do Meg’s three siblings back at home need food delivery.

Nick and Susan can draw on donated funds for any of their expenses/needs, and their authorized representatives can use this to fulfill specific assistance requests from Nick and Susan.
Daily Incidentals
Stuff comes up, especially when you’re not in your usual environment. Pocket money is needed for small, unplanned-for expenses.

Occasional unexpected pick-me-ups and surprises on the fly. Won’t that be fun?
